On the 15th July 2025 the UK Government announced a new £650m Electric Car Grant (ECG) scheme. This is part of the UK’s Plan for Change to help households save money and speed up the switch to greener, zero-emission cars.
The Electric Car Grant offers banded grant levels for vehicles priced at £37,000 or below, with eligibility criteria based on the sustainability of vehicle manufacturing (see Gov.uk for further details).
The highest grant, available for cars with the lowest carbon emission scores, is £3,750. The second level of grant is £1,500.
Vauxhall is now working with the UK Government to confirm final details of the models which will be eligible for the scheme. At this stage we envisage that selected electric versions of Corsa, Mokka, Astra, New Frontera, & New Grandland will qualify for the Grant.
Grants will be allocated and approved by Department of Transport’s Office for Zero Emission Vehicles on a first come, first served basis so please get in touch today with our Vauxhall team.
